Rene was born in 1969, in small town Vechta, Germany.
Even as a little boy, Rene was already drawn to and fascinated by the paintings. Rene was busy with technical drawings of the architect he frequently visited with his father: he was allowed to experiment with professional drawing equipment making innumerous drawings and drafts.
When Rene was thirteen years old, he started to create oil paintings while using his mother oils ( she is known landscape artist ) and won his first competition. Nevertheless, art was put on hold, when his parents pushed him into different direction of business, he has ultimately undertaken. Rene was working for various companies until became a branch manager of a large company.
His fascination with the art, has never passed and pursuing his real vocation, Rene was continuing to create paintings while many times working through the night to the next day. He was restless and was continuing the search for originality and new creative ides well realizing that repetitiveness in paintings makes them less attractive and interesting to people.
In 1995 Rene had his first solo exhibition and first sales. He studied techniques of old masters again and again. There is strong influence of Dali and Magritte that can be well followed through Rene’s paintings. His first fame and recognition followed his first show and Rene decided to be closely involved in art, following the footsteps of artistic community.
In 1997 another solo exhibition took place. At this time, Rene concentrated himself more on abstract and landscape direction where the decorative elements stood in the foreground only to realize once and for all that his real identity is in surreal paintings.
In 1999, the endless possibilities of the Internet have inspired him to continue working in the same, surreal direction having now better abilities to promote and advertise this kind of art. Many galleries have taken an interest in his paintings and so did the collectors from all over the world. More shows and exhibits have been organized making Rene a well recognized artist of the surreal genre.
In 2000, Rene moved to Bremen where he converted an old house into his own studio he is currently painting from. His work has become known to and well recognized by many galleries and art collectors throughout the world.
